DANTE 700: TRA OMBRE E LUCI

The marvellous Villa de Claricini Dornpacher, on the outskirts of Cividale del Friuli, hosts the exhibitions organized by Artestruttura. The event, as part of the national initiatives for the VII centenary of Dante Alighieri's death, takes place in concurrence with the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Claricini Dornpacher Foundation, hosts about eighty artists divided into three collective exhibitions: A plastic art showcase, followed by two painting exhibitions. The artists were also asked to express a thought on the work and figure of Dante, in a personal dialogue between visual and literary expression. To complete the event, a beautiful catalogue published by Giorgio Mondadori with texts by Giuseppe Siano, Giuseppe Arnone, Boris Brollo, Ernesto Cappelletto, Marina Dalla Vedova. "... And here these painters and sculptors are called to give us their own interpretation of their own inner hell more or less symptomatic of their own human and psychic discomfort. Knowing that then we will perhaps get out of it also thanks to their own works/visions so "we went out to see the stars". The struggle with one's own hell is over and the peace of accepting it itself (hell) gives us the calm to face the "how other people's bread tastes like salt."
