EXTRA MOENIA

After the presentations of the collateral event "Senza Terra / Pomerio" of the 17th Architecture Biennale and the collective pictorial exhibition "Intra Moenia", the enchanting Island of San Servolo hosts the collective exhibition Extra Moenia, curated by Leo Strozzieri. The event, documented by an Italiarts catalogue, presents thirty-seven contemporary artists who confront themselves between paintings and sculptures. On the front and back cover, two works by Paolo Marazzi.
"The declinations of the various artists invited, beyond the theories expressed by the two great artistic protagonists of the last century, named Duchamp and Beuys (the first believed that everything can be art, while for the German everyone can make art), to me they seem quite respectful of formal and aesthetic values even if the vertiginous irruption of the echo of certain neo-avant-gardes in the work of some authors would seem to show the opposite."
