FINLANDIA
15 September / 30 September 2022
A high-level exhibition promoting about fifty artists, most of them Italian, in Espoo, a city of about 300,000 inhabitants bordering the territory of Helsinki. The event, organised by Artestruttura, takes place in the highly frequented spaces of the Sello Library. In the exhibition and in the volume, which has an extract published in the Catalogo dell’Arte Moderna no. 58, the artists compare painting, sculpture, photography and graphics. Critical text by Leo Strozzieri. On the front and back cover, works by Paola Bradamante.
"Whenever an exhibition of contemporary art is offered to the public, and this observation is also pertinent to this rich group show of mainly Italian artists in Finland that offers a range of our country's various lines of research, the average viewer is somewhat perplexed by the mostly aniconic works that are difficult to read, and quite often the statement 'But I could do this work too' is heard among the audience."
